Sam Hearn

Sam Hearn is a rising star in the UK surf industry. Earlier this year he made surf history as the first under 18 English to get to the final of the ISA World Junior Championship in El Salvador since the competition began in the 60s!

Sam first took to the water at just six years old and has been hooked ever since. He spends half his time in Cornwall, and the other half in Portugal to ensure that he can practice all year round. Sam has won the English Nationals four times throughout his career and strives to improve his Qualifying Series (QS) score every single year.

Sam combines his love for surfing with his love for travel. He loves nothing better experiencing the thrill of surfing new breaks, going to new places, embracing different cultures and making worldwide friends.

He looks up to surfers like Dane Reynolds and Italo Ferreira and always goes for a free surf after a big competition to unwind and reset his mindset. His greatest non-competitive achievement to date is being asked to play a surf double in the Disney movie “Artemis Fowl”, and the coolest place he’s ever surfed is Sumatra in Indonesia.

Sam is a proud Animal #TeamRider and ambassador . His all-time favourite product are Animal hoodies which he loves for their ‘simple design’. Being an ambassador for Animal is “super important to me” says Sam. He is “ really impressed that brand is moving in a way that is kinder to the planet”
